triple mango NL33: Windows Down, Heater Up

🥭 Loukeman 🥭 Jump Source 🥭 Becky and the Birds and all that good stuff

Howdy Mango readers,

Matty here, tapping in from Berlin where the weather’s finally turning and Summer feels like it’s nearly within our grasp.

We’re nearly ten breakfast shows deep on THF Radio since joining at the top of the year, finding the proverbial mango-pocket, inviting guests, and generally hitting our stride.

For our latest our good bud/darling Cam aka Fluffi joined us for a breezy couple of hours on the air. It’s up there at the top for your listening pleasure this week.

As usual, we’ve got our monthly Mango selections below… digging up some of those warm-weather, beers-with-mates-in-the-park vibes to ease into the coming months. 🥭🥭🥭

Album: Loukeman - Sd-3 (2026)

Matt: Gen-z wunderkind Loukeman dropped the 3rd album in his Sd trilogy and delivered again with his signature, hyper-saturated kaleidoscope of electronica sounds and distinctmusical reference points. Everything sounds familiar yet impossibly fresh. ‘Pink Bape Lighter’ is the standout track for me, lacing some strong Todd Terje vibes in this euphoric chugger of a tune.

Album: David Moore - Graze the Bell (2026)

Nick: Been slowing things down a good bit lately and digging into some solo piano records to complement the pace. Gorgeous new one here from David Moore of minimalist/ambient trio Bing & Ruth, pulling influence from classical, jazz, and electronic-leaning ambient. Some other soft ones I’ve been loving: Phil Cook, h. hunt, Hania Rani, Robert Haigh.

Tune: Jaws of Death - The Mall (2026)

Matt: Jaws of Death are Clay and Ethan, an indie duo out of Brooklyn who keep churning out lovely nostalgia-laced emotional ballads. They also happen to be friends of the newsletter and just released a new single we think you should listen to. Hopefully this means a new album on the horizon.

Album: Jump Source - Fold (2026)

Nick: Seems like we’re featuring a record from naff recordings out of Montreal almost every letter now, but hard not to when they keep churning out heat like this long player from Priori and Patrick Holland as Jump Source. Spanning dub techno, house, trance, breakbeat-y electronica, and even a gorgeous trip hop closer with Japanese trip hop legend POiSON GiRL FRiEND, amongst some other wild features, there’s a lot to love. Will be vibing amongst in the coming months.

Tune: Fruit Bats - The Landfill (2026)

Matt: Eric D. Johnson’s indie-folk project Fruit Bats has a new album on the way (June 12th), and they’ve dripped out a few tracks plus a music video for the title track ‘The Landfill’. Self described as “existential make-out music” this record is right on time for windows-down Summer road trips.

EP: Jeff Parker ETA IVtet - Happy Today (2026)

Nick: “A distinctly joyful night of togetherness set against the backdrop of dark times.”

Expansive, longform ambient jazz from something of a supergroup in guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise), bassist Anna Butterss, saxophonist Josh Johnson, and drummer Jay Bellerose. Like Swimwear has been on heavy rotation on the morning show lately, as well as being an excellent brain comber to wind down to.

Tune: Becky and the Birds - Should’ve known better (choices) (2026)

Matt: Becky and the Birds is the moniker of Swedish producer Thea Gustafsson, one I was recently put on to by our recent radio-booth guest Tom (okayokayokay). Heartfelt electronica laced with emotive RnB vocals – right in the mango sweet spot.

EP: Fine Food Market - I’m afraid to be in love with someone who crashes their car that much (2025)

Nick: Continuing to have a lil country moment this year and thoroughly enjoying the finds of late, especially when they’re influenced by Adrienne Lenker like this one. Folky dream-pop with a tinge of twanged out country and slide guitar, and lyrics in French and English from Fine Food Market out of Montreal. Dug up this week from my go-to Americana newsletter No Expectations. Stargazing in the desert type ting.

Tune: YEEK - Love Songs (2026)

Matt: LA-based Yeek is a newer discovery of mine, somewhere in the hazy emo-RnB/cloud rap genre zone; a youth movement-powered sound space that I’m constantly discovering lovely tunes within. The full album is worth a deeper dive.

Album: Go Kurosawa - soft shakes (2025)

Nick: My favorite record to get lost in this year. Solo debut from Japanese artist Go Kurosawa, the drummer and vocalist for psych rockers Kikagaku Moyo. It’s hard to pin down but it’s got elements of soft rock, ambient, jazz, and 90s electronica, and is just a wonderful, meditative album to tuck into. Go was also recently on tour with other recent Mango fav Ben Hackett, who put out one of our fav albums of late.

Album: Eli Keszler - Bunnylovr (2026)

Matt: Eli Keszler is a multidisciplinary powerhouse whose sound effortlessly bridges the gap between ambient jazz and experimental electronica. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s a bit of a chameleon, collabing with everyone from Oneohtrix Point Never and Laurel Halo to Skrillex. He’s also a prolific film composer (Uncut Gems, Harka and Pet Shop Days to name a few), most recently scoring Katarina Zhu’s dark comedy, BUNNYLOVR. Tracking the life of a grieving camgirl, Keszler’s soundtrack is haunting, fractured, and unexpectedly gorgeous.

Tune: Sky Mitchell - Are You Ready (1978)

Nick: Breezy dad rock tune of the week courtesy of Forager Records’ Matthew Bruce, whose constantly unearthing rare and unknown records on his YouTube channel Crates LA. If you’re into this type of pocket, you’ll have a great time poking around both the channel and Forager’s discography. All sorts of cosmic cowboy gems.

🥭 Here’s a playlist (Apple Music / Spotify) with a taste of everything mentioned 🥭
